Neer Dosa which means water dosa is a prepared from rice batter. Neer means water in Kannada. The batter for this dosa is more watery than the normal dosa made from rice and urad dal. This batter also does not require fermentation. It is also called as Tellavu in Havyaka kannada.
Ingredients:
1 cup White Rice
2 tbsp grated coconut/ poha
Salt to taste
1tsp Ghee or oil
Procedure :
Soak the rice for about 6 hours or overnight. Blend the rice along with 2tbsp of grated coconut or poha with enough water to make a runny thin batter. The coconut or poha is used so that the dosa comes out smoothly from the tawa. Once the batter is ready add salt to taste.Splash the batter on a tawa which is on a medium flame and add 1tsp of ghee or oil over it. Cover the tawa and cook for a minute. Once cooked flip it over. Serve it hot with red or green chutney.
You can improvise this dosa by adding an onion, 2 red chillies and curry leaves. The dosa will have more flavour.
