It was a rainy evening and i wanted to have a snack which did not have too much oil in it. Normally i would be craving for pakoras but i wanted to try something different and healthy today. My friend happened to tell me about this recipe and i wanted to try it out. It came out pretty well. So here is the recipe of Bread uthappam.
Ingredients:
Bread 2 sclices
Rava/Sooji 1/2 cup
Yogurt/Curd 1/2 cup
Grated carrot 1/2 cup
Onions 1/4 cup
Capsicum (thinly sliced) 1/2 cup
Ghee
Salt
Procedure:
Mix Rava, carrot, capsicum, onions along with curd. Add salt to taste. Leave the mixture for minutes.
Apply the batter on one side of the bread. Put ghee on a tava which is on a medium flame. When it is hot place the bread with the batter side down on the tava. Cook till you get a nice brown color. Once done turn the bread and place it on the other side till it turns into light brown color.
Serve it hot with ketchup or chutney.
I put the batter only on one side so that the crispiness would remain and the snack would be light. You can also change the vegetables to the one's you like.
